Dahlia Ball Viking

Dahlia ‘Viking’  is a rich wine-red pompon dahlia with tightly arranged, inward-curving petals that form a perfectly round bloom.  flowers on strong sturdy stems.  Ideal for container planting or boarders

The key to growing healthy dahlias is planting them in warm soil.  In Eastern Canada this typically means early June.  For a head start you can pot up the tubers in mid to late April and keep them indoors until planting time.  Dahlias thrive in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.  They begin blooming in mid-July and continue right up until the first frost. These plants make excellent cut flowers and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
