Dahlia Ball Genova

Dahlia ‘Genova’ is a lovely miniature ball-type dahlia with soft lavender blooms accented by a darker centre.   Its compact size, charming colouration and strong stems make it ideal for both borders and cut-flower arrangements

The key to growing healthy dahlias is planting them in warm soil.  In Eastern Canada this typically means early June.  For a head start you can pot up the tubers in mid to late April and keep them indoors until planting time.  Dahlias thrive in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.  They begin blooming in mid-July and continue right up until the first frost. These plants make excellent cut flowers and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
