Dahlia Brown Sugar-New

Dahlia ‘Brown Sugar’ is a stunning ball-type dahlia grown for its warm bronzy tones and richly coloured blooms.  Its perfectly rounded flowers blend rusty orange and copper shades with deeper, darker centers, creating a glowing autumn-inspired look.  Long-lasting on sturdy stems, it’s a favorite for both garden displays and cut-flower arrangements.

The key to growing healthy dahlias is planting them in warm soil.  In Eastern Canada this typically means early June.  For a head start you can pot up the tubers in mid to late April and keep them indoors until planting time.  Dahlias thrive in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.  They begin blooming in mid-July and continue right up until the first frost. These plants make excellent cut flowers and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
