Tulip Akebono is a fragrant double tulip with primrose yellow petals edge every so slightly in red. Its origin is from Japan and Akebono loosely translated, means " bright sky at dawn, or daybreak ". The flowers are large and absolutely stunning. Planted on its own for a spectacular display or in combination with tulip varieties World's Favourite, Ile de France and Narcissus Golden Echo.
The late double varieties are prized for their lush, peony-like blooms often resembling roses or peonies.
