Tulip Chrysantha Peppermint Stick is a lovely bi-colour tulip with white coloured flowers striped with cherry red lines on their outer petals.  For a spectacular effect, plant on masse combined with narcissus Thalia and Blue Muscari. The specie variety of tulips have  relatively smaller blooms on shorter stems compared to their cultivated counterparts. 

Specie tulips are often referred as wild tulips, share characteristics similar to how they grow in their natural habitat. Specie tulips are diverse in blooming times.  There are the  very early, Pulchella Violacea, to late, Dasystemon Tarda.  Excellent at coming back each year if left undisturbed,  Ideal for rock gardens and boarder plantings. ,
