Tulip Bleu Aimable

Tulip Bleu Aimable is an remarkable heirloom variety.  Its deep lilac petals, tinged with purple blush, gracefully rise up on a sturdy stem. This variety is the closets it gets to blue within the tulip repertoire.  We will have to wait until scientist unravels the mystery behind the blue gene before we see a true blue tulip.  Plant this variety with Menton and Maureen other wise know as the French Collection of tulips. 

Single Late Tulips, also known  Cottage single late tulips or French tulips, are renowned as some of the latest bloomers among tulip varieties.  They put on a vibrant display of colours in late spring, standing out when many other tulip varieties are already finished blooming.  They often are seen blooming along side early peonies and beard iris. This group of tulips is characterized by its tall stature, with large elegant large flower heads adorning long stems.
