Colocasia - Elephant Ears

The Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta), commonly known as taro is a well-loved variety prized for its large, dramatic, arrow-shaped leaves and strong tropical presence.  Mature plants typically reach 5–8 feet tall creating bold structure in the garden.  Taro thrives in warm temperatures, rich soil, and consistently moist—even wet—conditions, making it an excellent choice for pond edges or rain-garden areas.  If planting in a garden pot make sure the minimum size is 30" diameter and water every day!
