Dahlia ‘Night Silence’ is a dramatic decorative dahlia distinguished by its deep coloured velvety dusty rose petals that darken toward an almost black center. The large fully double blooms sit atop strong, upright stems, making them excellent for cutting and striking in the garden.  Blooming from midsummer to frost, this variety adds rich moody colour and refined elegance to borders, beds, and floral arrangements.

The key to growing healthy dahlias is planting them in warm soil.  In Eastern Canada this typically means early June.  For a head start you can pot up the tubers in mid to late April and keep them indoors until planting time.  Dahlias thrive in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.  They begin blooming in mid-July and continue right up until the first frost. These plants make excellent cut flowers and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
