Canna Lilies

Canna lilies are easy, rewarding plants that thrive in warm, sunny conditions. They grow best in full sun, rich, well-drained soil, and with consistent moisture especially during hot weather. Plant rhizomes after the danger of frost has passed, placing them about 10-15 cm  deep and spaced 30-40 cm apart. Cannas benefit from regular watering and a balanced fertilizer to encourage lush foliage and abundant blooms. Deadheading spent flowers helps prolong the display and in colder climates, the rhizomes should be lifted and stored indoors for winter once frost has killed back the foliage.
