A very beautiful dark tulip, purple with a lot of red undertones. I have mine paired with double deep red ‘Uncle Tom’ tulips, and the combo is gorgeous, the deep red of the ‘Uncle Tom’ pulling out the red undertones of ‘Paul Scherer’. If you’re looking for a truly dark black purple, go with ‘Queen of the Night’, to which there is no comparison. But if you’re looking for something not quite as dark purple with a red flash, this is your tulip.

This is the prettiest dark(black with a hint of purple) tulip ever! They had tons of them at the Denver Botanic Gardens a few years ago. My favorite of all time.
